Englishman Robert Cracknell in the last century was considered one of the most famous psychic detectives in Great Britain.
When he worked for a car insurance firm, his job was to check on customers who were suspected of hiding their cars, claim they were stolen, and demand insurance. Cracknell has exposed more than a dozen such scammers in his lifetime.
To convince everyone of his abilities, Robert Cracknell had to go through serious tests, including a test invented by the French scientist Eugene Osti. The clairvoyant was asked to enter the room in which people should gather, sit on any chair and describe the person who will soon be sitting on it.
The clairvoyant chose a chair, sat down on it, concentrated and announced that after him he would be taken by a young attractive woman. He even told some of the details of her personal life.
Two hours later, members of the Oxford Society for the Paranormal entered the room and began to sit down as they please. The woman sitting on the chair that Robert Cracknell had occupied a couple of hours earlier was very similar to the one he described. His words about her personal life were also confirmed.
Logic does not allow materialists to agree that it is possible to describe something that has not yet happened. Cracknell argues that some area of the human brain in moments of insight is able to look into the future.
Robert Cracknell was once asked if he had any insights about Janey Sheppard?
It turned out that Cracknell, who almost did not read newspapers and did not watch TV, for the first time hears the name of this beautiful blonde from Australia, who disappeared without a trace on February 4, 1977.
She was last seen in Queensway, London. Four days later, Janey's blue mini with a For Sale on the windshield was found in Notting Hill Gate. The owner of the car has sunk into the water.
Despite the fact that Robert Cracknell first heard about this woman, a whole string of memories of her washed over him. He saw a blue mini with birth control pills in the back seat, Janey herself, raped and strangled. I also saw the place where the killer hid the corpse.
Janey's body was indeed found north of London, in the Nomandsland Common. A reporter who spoke to Cracknell called Scotland Yard and found that no birth control pills were found in the car. But the clairvoyant only shook his head, saying that his vision was bright and very clear.
The next day, returning home, Cracknell saw the men waiting for him. They were Scotland Yard detectives. From their questions, he guessed that he was suspected of murdering Janey.
It turned out that the detectives actually found the contraceptive pill in the back seat of the car and, assuming that only the killer could know this detail, they came to arrest Cracknell.
Robert tried for a long time to explain to them that he was not a killer at all, but a clairvoyant. Realizing that they did not believe him, he decided to prove his abilities in practice. “There is a scar on the cheek of the person you are looking for,” Cracknell said. - He comes from Jamaica or some other island state in the Caribbean. He is currently serving a prison sentence for a sex crime. But not for the murder of Janey Sheppard."
The detectives exchanged gazed looks. This is what one of the main suspects in the murder of Janey Sheppard, a Barbadian named David Lashley, who had already served 12 years in prison for rape and murder, looked like this. Soon after his release, half a mile from the place where the "mini" murdered Janey was found, another girl was raped in the car.
The rapist left her, considering her dead, but she survived. Answering questions from the police, the girl said that she was attacked by a man with a scar on his cheek and that, by raping her, he spoke about his hatred of all white women.
Now it is difficult to explain what the detectives were guided by, deciding not to spin Lashley on the subject of Janey Sheppard's disappearance. He himself told his friend, the same rapist, Daniel Rhys, that, threatening with a butcher knife, he had kidnapped Janey, raped in the forest and strangled him. When David Lashley said he would continue to take revenge on white women, Rhys got scared and told the police about the conversation.
