Berkeley Square is located in the heart of London and for two centuries it has been one of the most prestigious areas to live in.

Along with Park Lane, Chelsea and Mayfair, it is the epitome of the wealth and success that London has to offer. Here noble lords, noble ladies, counts and duchesses walked and talked in their circle, and according to the old song, nightingales always sang here.

House at number 50 was built in 1740 and for several decades it was the most ordinary house, which did not stand out in any way from other houses on the same square. But then, in an apartment in the attic, a young girl committed suicide by throwing herself down from the window. According to legend, the girl was raped by her own uncle and she could not endure such a shame.

Other versions tell of a young guy who was locked up in the attic in punishment for something and was only given food through a small hole in the door. This guy soon lost his mind and died, and after death became a ghost.

The third story is about a little girl who previously lived in the same apartment under the roof and who was once attacked by a sadistic servant and beaten to death.

One way or another, something supernatural, eerie and very evil has settled in the apartment under the roof of house number 50. Sometimes it appeared in the form of a reddish-brown cloud of fog, sometimes in the form of a whitish "classic" ghost. No one could live in this apartment anymore, and frightening knocks, creaks and groans were heard from there at night.

From 1859 to 1874, a certain Thomas Myers lived in house number 50, and once the bride rejected his offer, which very much wounded an elderly man. He became a recluse and practically did not leave his room. It is said that in this state he was so strongly influenced by the frightening nocturnal sounds that he began to slowly go insane.

After his death, the house's reputation as an eerie place to live was further strengthened.

In 1872, the famous Lord Littleton bet that he would spend the night in the attic of his house. He took a shotgun with him and when at night something terrible appeared to him. he shot the creature with a shotgun. The next morning he found in the room only his bullets on the floor, but nothing else was there.

In 1887, Mayfair Magazine published a note that a maid was accidentally (or deliberately) locked in a room under the roof of house No. 50 in the evening, and when she was discovered in the morning, the poor girl was completely insane. She was admitted to the hospital, but died the next day.

In the same note, it was written that one nobleman decided to personally check what happened in that room and also stayed there overnight. And when they found him in the morning, he was so paralyzed with fear that he could not even speak.

In the same 1887 it was reported that two sailors from the ship "Penelope" spent the night in one of the rooms of the house (not even in the attic), and in the morning one was found dead in the corridor. The poor fellow seemed to stumble for something and hurt his head in the fall, although there were no rapids or anything else on the floor.

Shortly after this incident, several residents of the house said that they saw the ghost of Thomas Myers, which was very aggressive.

Various strange stories circulated about number 50 until the 1930s, after which the entire house was bought by the London company Maggs Bros. and a large office of antiques was opened in it.

After that, no reports of unusual incidents have been received from this house, while it is known that the attic room is always closed in it and even the store employees are prohibited from being there.
