Russian military experts are experiencing the so-called "pain beam" - an electromagnetic non-lethal weapon that causes a strong burning sensation in a person. At the same time, the Ministry of Defense calls it unique, although the Americans have already created such a gun and even publicly tested it, including on volunteers.
The American counterpart - Active Denial System (ADS) of the defense company Raytheon - has already been nicknamed "heat ray" or "microwave gun"
Russian tests are carried out by employees of the 12th Central Research Institute of the military department, located in Sergiev Posad, Moscow region. Extremely high-frequency (EHF) electromagnetic radiation is used as a damaging factor, said Lieutenant Colonel Dmitry Soskov, deputy head of the department of the Central Research Institute.
According to him, the powerful directional beam generated by the installation interacts with moisture in the upper layers of human skin and penetrates only tenths of a millimeter. At the same time, a person experiences sensations as with a severe burn and reflexively tries to hide from the striking invisible ray.
The military said that the impact on the internal organs is completely excluded, but a burning sensation can cause heat shock. "It takes only two to three seconds for a person to get hurt. The radiation passes freely through clothing without damaging it," he added.
The range of the striking beam is in direct proportion to the dimensions of the installation itself. "If we are talking about a propagation range of 250-300 meters, then such a generator can be placed in the passenger compartment of a Gazelle or on a Tiger car," said the researcher.
According to him, the propagation of EHF radiation cannot be blocked by a smoke or dust curtain, unlike optical lasers. "An optically impenetrable medium for lasers is not very good. Our installation will work there," - said a representative of the Institute of the Ministry of Defense.
He also noted that a new model of non-lethal weapons could be created on the basis of the laboratory EHF installation. It is believed to be most effective in local conflicts when there is no continuous front line, as well as in suppressing riots in urban settings. "The generator allows you to shoot a beam from around the corner with the help of a reflector, it is indispensable in the city," the scientist explained.
The "pain beam" refers to the Defense Ministry's plans to develop weapons based on "new physical principles." News on this topic regularly haunts the media and experts after Prime Minister and President-elect Vladimir Putin wrote about such a weapon in his sixth campaign article on national security.
It literally said the following: “The military capabilities of countries in outer space, in the field of information warfare, primarily in cyberspace, will be of great, if not decisive, importance in determining the nature of the armed struggle. principles (ray, geophysical, wave, gene, psychophysical).
In March, at a meeting with Putin on the implementation of the program outlined in his articles, the head of the military department Anatoly Serdyukov announced his readiness to create such a weapon. American journalists immediately announced that some of the listed species fall under the ban of international conventions. Some experts even say that the new weapon threatens "world domination" and "genocide."
However, the beam weapon in question is not banned. In the United States, in particular, not only such weapons are being developed, but also wave and psychophysical weapons, which can be used for a variety of purposes - from dispersing a crowd to disorienting enemy equipment. The Pentagon's secret list of non-lethal weapons hit the Internet in January.
The Russian Federation begins to develop a new military doctrine "for 30-40 years ahead"
Meanwhile, a new military doctrine is being developed in Russia - preparation will begin in mid-May and will be completed by the end of the year, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin, who oversees the military-industrial complex, said on Tuesday. The document, strictly speaking, is not a doctrine, "it will be a security concept, program-targeted strategic planning."
According to Rogozin, the concept "will be designed for everything: analysis of promising military threats, external and internal, and, accordingly, preparation of a military-technical response in order to localize and neutralize these threats." The document will be calculated "30-40 years ahead".
The current doctrine was adopted by President Dmitry Medvedev in February 2010. One of the main external threats in it was called "the desire to endow NATO's power potential with global functions implemented in violation of international law, to bring the military infrastructure of NATO member states closer to the borders of the Russian Federation, including by expanding the bloc."
Vladimir Putin, in his seventh pre-election article on foreign policy, again lashed out at the United States and NATO. Analysts had predicted earlier that with the return of Putin to the Kremlin, a new cooling would ensue in relations between Russia and the West, and after this article and some other statements by the elected president, they began to frighten them with a new Cold War.
Dmitry Rogozin suggested that the peak of expenditures under the state program for the defense industry will be in 2015-2016, when Russia will enter the serial production of weapons. "Now we are doing research and development work (research and development work), then a prototype of a weapon appears, we test it, put it into service, then a series went on, this is the most expensive series," the Deputy Prime Minister said.
He added that if the series is launched, Russian troops will be saturated with modern and strategic weapons, battlefield weapons, communications equipment, and optics. "In a number of positions we will have superiority on the battlefield, I guarantee this to you," Rogozin said. Thus, 70% of the troops by 2020 will be updated with modern weapons.

TORTURE WITH THE ALGEZIMETER Depending on the characteristics of the perception of pain, nature has divided people into four types. Find out to which of them this or that person belongs, honey
Britain Is Experiencing An Invasion Of Giant Rats
Great Britain is threatened with an invasion of giant rats that are immune to poison. The local press reports on several occasions when building owners or rodent control specialists have caught rats that are similar in size to a small cat. Experts say people are to blame for the problem: they throw away too much food in places that are easily accessible to rodents. London, Liverpool and Hampshire cities have already faced an invasion of giant rats. In photographs that are not photoshopped
People May Experience Physical Pain By Observing The Pain Of Others
Many people flinch when they see someone hurt, and most of us assume that this is just an emotional response to another person's pain, but not the same feeling of pain. But now neuroscientists at the Max Planck Institute have found that the same brain structures are activated in people who are in pain and those who empathize with them - the anterior insular lobe and the cingulate cortex. This suggests that even if a person does not experience the trauma himself, he
Numbness To Pain Or Pain Numbness
American Stephen Peet and his brother were born with a rare disease - congenital insensitivity to pain. According to scientists, only a few hundred people around the world suffer from them. It is characterized by a partial or complete absence of pain in burns or injuries. Stephen Peet According to British scientists, such changes in the body occur before birth at the genetic level. A mutation in a gene called SCN9A leads to the absence of pain reflexes, which significantly
