The very phrase "carnivorous bacteria" will scare any person with imagination and conjure up images of black rotting flesh and sick, like zombies from horror movies.
For many people, this is the worst infection that you can get, even worse than cancer or AIDS, because these bacteria are eating you alive and at a very fast pace, while you are conscious and in great pain.
Some of these pathogens hunt your skin and connective tissues, others can destroy bones, and still others lodge inside your body and slowly eat away at you from the inside out.
10. Necrotizing fasciitis
Necrotizing fasciitis is caused by Streptococcus pyogenes and the anaerobic bacteria Clostridium perfringens. They primarily affect the skin and subcutaneous tissue.
At an early stage of the disease, the patient only hurts in certain places and has a fever, so an inexperienced doctor can miss the right moment and confuse this infection with the flu or other illness. And when the disease has already gained strength, then the count goes literally for hours.
The affected tissues darken, the infection quickly spreads through the lymphatic vessels and veins, as a result of which infectious-toxic shock develops. With a large area of damage, patients can die.
9. Summer bacteria
Vibrio vulnificus is sometimes referred to as the "summer bacterium" because it most often infects beach lovers. Accordingly, it thrives in areas with a large crowd of people, beaches and bodies of water with salt water, such as in the state of Florida (USA).
To catch this bacterium, you need to bathe in warm water with an open wound on your body. Another way of infection is to eat raw seafood like oysters, in which bodies this bacteria is also abundant.
Unlike necrotizing fasciitis, this bacterium does not eat your flesh directly, but causes severe rotting of the subcutaneous tissue, which can lead to limb amputation. But worst of all, this is when it penetrates deep into your body and causes rotting already in the internal organs.
8. Donovanosis
It is a sexually transmitted infection that causes persistent sores in the genital area. It is caused by the bacterium Klebsiella granulomatis, which not only creates sores and inflammations on the skin, but corrodes the skin and can cause enormous damage to the body.
In addition to the genitals, it can spread to other parts of the body, also creating there characteristic rounded foci of inflammation, which burst when overgrown, exposing raw meat with whitish edges. In especially advanced cases, Klebsiella granulomatis can get to the bones.
7. Pseudomonas aeruginosa
Pseudomonas aeruginosa (Pseudomonas Aeruginosa) enters your body through any open wound or scratch and, under the right conditions, immediately begins to multiply rapidly. The symptoms are similar to necrotizing fasciitis.
The only good news about this bacterium is that healthy people with normal immunity are usually very rarely infected with it. But if it is not treated, then as with necrotizing fasciitis, it can lead to rapid death, quickly corroding the skin and penetrating the internal organs and bones.
The worst thing is that many strains of this bacterium have developed resistance to antibiotics and therefore are very difficult to treat.
6. Staphylococcus aureus
In general, all staphylococci have a tendency to "eat" your flesh, but Staphylococcus aureus is also more resistant to antibiotics. Most often, the lesion is similar to a severe form of acne with deep abscesses, but sometimes the skin can be so badly eroded that it will resemble the consequences of burns.
Worst of all, when a staphylococcal infection enters the bloodstream, it can cause sepsis and death. Also, the same necrotizing fasciitis can be observed.
5. Negleria Fowler
The Negleria fowler bacterium is often called the carnivorous amoeba and more recently in the news reportedthat in just 10 days she killed a person by penetrating into his brain.
These dangerous critters love to swim in warm fresh water, so they are easy to pick up even in the pool. If you swallow it, then nothing terrible will happen, but if it gets into the nose, it will pass through the olfactory nerve to the brain and there it will begin to multiply and destroy brain cells.
Symptoms can easily be confused with brain diseases, and when it turns out that this is a carnivorous amoeba, it is usually too late.
4. Gas gangrene
Deadly gas gangrene is caused by the bacteria Clostridium perfringens, which most often enter the human body along with street dirt and dust. These bacteria release highly toxic substances that poison the human body, causing massive tissue swelling.
Already 6 hours after the bacteria enters the body, a person begins to have a fever, the skin acquires a gray-blue tint, and the wound through which the bacteria entered the body deepens, swells and sometimes even muscles are visible. When pressing on the wound, small gas bubbles with an unpleasant rotten smell are released.
3. Streptococcus pyogenic
This streptococcus targeted the throat, as well as the rectum and vagina, so it is easy to understand that this is one of the most unpleasant streptococci in general, if there is such a qualification.
It is the causative agent of scarlet fever and acute pharyngitis in children. It usually starts with a sore throat and whitish discharge on the mucous membrane, but can reach nausea, headache, and even cause toxic shock syndrome.
Fortunately, most infections with this bacterium, especially in the throat, do not result in any "eating" of flesh. However, in severe cases, when the body is very weakened and there is a very weak immunity, this streptococcus can behave very destructively.
2. E. coli (Escherichia coli)
This bacteria is usually responsible for food poisoning, but sometimes it manifests itself much more aggressively. Some strains of Escherichia coli are known that cause death and decay of skin and connective tissue cells, and then you can observe almost the same symptoms as in necrotizing fasciitis.
The victims of such aggression are also usually people with weakened immunity, and such cases often ended in their death.
1. Buruli ulcer
Buruli ulcer is a dangerous tropical disease caused by the bacteria Mycobacterium ulcerans. In 2018, almost 3 thousand cases of this disease were recorded in Africa, South America and other hot countries. Half of the cases in Africa are children under 15 running barefoot.
The limbs are mainly affected, and the skin and bones, and there is no treatment as such, the patients are only given doses of antibiotics. Once in the body through scratches or wounds, bacteria begin to produce a dangerous toxin that damages tissues and suppresses the immune system.
First, a small painless bump appears on the leg, the toxin suppresses pain. After a few weeks, this lump disintegrates and turns into an ulcer, the depth of which can go down to the bones.

In Thailand, Found Strange Snakes That Eat Their Prey Alive From The Inside
Nature never ceases to amaze when it would seem that everything around has long been known and studied. More recently, scientists have discovered beetles that are able to pass alive through the digestive tract of a frog and crawl out of its anus without being injured at all. And the other day in the scientific journal "Herpetozoa", dedicated to reptiles and amphibians, an article was published about snakes from Thailand, which feed in a very atypical way for snakes. As a rule, snakes swallow their prey whole, and if
Strange Japanese Beetles Can Pass Through The Intestines Of A Frog And Crawl Out Of The Anus Alive
If you are an insect or a small vertebrate and a frog swallows you alive, then this will be a death sentence for you. But one type of beetle, for some reason, is not digested in the intestines of the frog. Moreover, being alive and well, it passes through her intestines, and then crawls out of her anus. In 2019, Japanese scientist Shinji Sugiura of the Graduate School of Agricultural Science at Kobe University conducted experiments with frogs. At some point, a pond frog of the species "Pelophylax
Can A Person Tame The Most Valuable Thing In His Life - Time?
Each of us at least once had the thought: "If only I could return to the past - I would have done everything differently!" Or there was a desire to look into the future and see how fate would turn out. It seems fantastic. But American scientists from Michigan Technological University Robert Nemiroff and Teresa Wilson are convinced that time travel is not unreality. By now, a lot of unexplained facts have accumulated. For example, in 2008 in China, archaeologists led to
Can A Nightmare Kill A Person?
Almost every person at least once in his life had such a nightmare that he woke up in cold sweat, screaming or with a pounding heart in his chest. Many also experience an unusual condition such as nocturnal paralysis, during which they do not seem to sleep, but at the same time see frightening shadows or creepy black people next to their bed. However, you can wake up from any nightmare and nocturnal paralysis also does not cause physical harm to a person. Or is it not? The doctors will of course say that
Scientists First Transmitted Thought From Person To Person
A researcher from the United States, Rajesh Rao, was able to transmit a command to his partner using electromagnetic signals from the brain. According to the scientists' plan, Rajesh was supposed to send a signal to his colleague Andrea Stokko, who was on the other side of the university campus. The young man played a computer game by pressing the right button of the mouse with his index finger. He was placed in a remote university building and connected to his head with electrodes
