Raju, a 24-year-old Indian woman, was apparently carrying triplets, but she only had two twins. Boy and girl.
At the same time, the boy was completely normal, and the girl had four legs and three arms. She probably got these body parts from a third twin, whose body she absorbed in the womb at an early stage of development.
Raju did not know anything about how many children she was carrying and what their physical disabilities were. Originally from a remote village, she never even had an ultrasound scan.
Extra legs and an arm grew from the baby's breast. In this case, one leg was almost completely formed along with the thigh and buttock. The second leg and arm were underdeveloped and severely bent.
Raju gave birth to twins naturally and at first everything went fine. A healthy boy was born first. But then it became clear that the second baby was much larger and his woman had to give birth much longer. And when he was born and the obstetrician saw his developmental abnormality, he almost died from breathing problems.
Now the second baby has been placed in an incubator and his condition is stable. In the future, he is planned to be transported to a special clinic in Jaipur to prepare for surgery to remove excess body parts.
Raju and her husband Gujar earn their living as a wage earner and receive very little. Both are illiterate and rarely visit hospitals because they have no money to do so. They were very upset that one of their first children was sick, although doctors convince them that after the operation, the girl will most likely grow up like any ordinary child.
