Tenth place was taken by Portland, Oregon … Portland has earned a reputation as the most "ghostly" city in the Pacific Northwest due to its interesting history and, of course, the Shanghai Tunnels, which are famous for their many ghosts. The fact is that at the beginning of the 19th century, Portland was a large port, which was visited by many ships, which made possible the emergence of the practice of kidnapping unsuspecting people from bars or hotels in order to send them to the East as slaves or prostitutes.

For this, a branched labyrinth of underground tunnels was used, which still exist under city streets. Knowledgeable people say that the ghosts of the abducted disappeared without a trace can be found in the tunnels in our time.

The ninth place is taken by San Francisco with its huge multicultural heritage and rich history of natural disasters. That there is only Alcatraz prison, whose visitors allegedly repeatedly saw ghosts in the cells and heard mysterious voices in the cafeteria.

In eighth place is Chicago. One of the city's main attractions is the Hull House, built by Charles J. Hull in 1856. The house has an infamous and macabre reputation associated with the legend of the devil's child.

Sixth place is taken by St. Augustine, the oldest continuously inhabited city in the country. The star-shaped fort, Castillo de San Marcos, is considered to be home to many ghosts.

In fifth place - San Antonio, Texas … This is the most "haunted" city in the state - it is famous for dozens of ghosts and associated places. Especially many ghosts live in the fort, on the site where the famous battle of the Alamo took place.

Fourth place went to New Orleans … In the past, New Orleans - slavery and the religion of voodoo. Both phenomena have left their mark on the history of the city. The most famous ghost in town is by far the voodoo queen Marie Laveau, and St. Louis Cemetery is considered the most haunted cemetery in the country.

The shadow of this battle hovers over the city today, and the place where the battle took place is known for increased paranormal activity. There is ample documented evidence of the appearance of the ghosts of dead soldiers in these areas, including General Robert Lee.

Savannah, Georgia is ranked first in ghosts and spirits.… In 2002, the American Institute of Parapsychology named Savannah the most haunted city. This city is associated with the Revolutionary War, the Civil War and the name of General Sherman.
