On April 11, 2019, the Israeli Bereshit spacecraft attempted to land on the moon, but crashed while landing.
On board the apparatus was the so-called "Lunar Library" - a selection of various scientific instruments for conducting experiments on the lunar surface. And in it is a whole container with thousands tardigrade - microscopic invertebrates. It crashed, like the apparatus itself.
The length of the tardigrade, which in the West is often called "water bears", is at most one and a half millimeters. They have an oval body with four pairs of large, thick limbs and they move very slowly indeed.
For scientists, tardigrades are a striking example of endurance, they can "sleep" in suspended animation for a year, and then "resurrect" and behave as usual. In suspended animation, they dry up (almost all the water leaves the body) and can endure the most incredible overloads.
In addition, tardigrades can live peacefully for 30 years at a temperature of minus 20 degrees Celsius, live normally for 20 months in liquid oxygen, withstand immersion in liquid helium cooled to −271 ° С, and can also withstand heat up to + 60-65 ° for 10 hours C and an hour at +100 ° C.
In general, tardigrades are incredible creatures and that is why Israel made them passengers of its apparatus. But the device crashed and some often tardigrade certainly survived and is now on the moon.
And scientists are now asking questions, can tardigrades survive under the conditions of the moon in such an unexpected experiment, and how long will they live there? Experts have not yet given any unequivocal answers to these questions.
Some Internet users are already accusing Israel of "littering" the moon with biological organisms that are extremely tenacious and even supposedly can affect the atmosphere of the moon. And that tardigrades from the Moon can travel to deep space, and if they get somewhere on a distant planet, then … what the hell is not kidding, what if they become the cause of life on it?
True, the conditions of the Moon (and space) for tardigrades are still too extreme to really believe that they will be able to adapt there and even more so begin to reproduce. But nevertheless, the vitality and adaptability of these microorganisms by humans is still not fully understood.

How To Survive After The Apocalypse
The very first problem that a person who sees cities that have developed like a house of cards with burning factories and oil storage facilities will face is the shock of the loss of everything that has been accumulated in previous years. The thought that everything has changed, within minutes, that the old world has fallen and will never return, will hang over everyone like the sword of Damocles. Not everyone can handle it. Crazy people will appear, sometimes harmless, sometimes annoying, sometimes very dangerous. The destroyed shops will already be massively plundered
Humans Will Not Be Able To Live On The Moon, As Moon Dust Causes Lung Cancer
Living on the moon turned out to be much more dangerous than previously imagined. Moon dust was previously thought to be toxic and cause an unusual illness in astronauts, but now researchers say it may cause and develop lung cancer. The image below shows astronaut Harrison Schmitt from the Apollo 17 mission, December 1972. Schmitt works on the lunar surface and uses an adjustable scoop to collect rock and soil samples (paranormal-news.ru). To his spacesuit while collecting samples
The Farmer Managed To Survive After Two Lightning Strikes In A Day
Surprising luck fell to the lot of the South African farmer Martiens van Wyck, who was struck by lightning twice, but he survived both times, according to the BBC. The first blow came on Friday the 13th (quite a suitable day), when M. van Wyck and his colleagues went to a farm in the Ventersdorp area where he lives and works. The owner of the farm, Niko Tromp, M. van Wyck and several workers were setting up a fence at the moment of the impact. As a result, M. wang Vic was thrown aside, for a couple of seconds he lost with
Will Our Descendants Survive The Destruction Of The Universe?
In billions of years, the universe will cease to exist. But the good news is that we have plenty of time to prepare for this and maybe even figure out how to cheat cosmic death. Here are some possible ways our descendants might survive the cosmological apocalypse. And if you are there in the future, reading this, do not thank. The universe, like the organisms that inhabit it, is a mortal entity. Born in the Big Bang, she will one day meet her fate in a similar
A Unique Parasitic Jellyfish Was Found In The Body Of A Salmon That Can Survive Without Oxygen
The tiny jellyfish-like parasite of the species Henneguya Slminicola lives in the intestines of salmon and has been known to scientists for quite some time. However, only recently its completely unique qualities became clear - this parasitic jellyfish is the first discovered animal that is able to survive without oxygen. This discovery has already made us say that such living things can inhabit oxygen-deprived planets, which are usually considered lifeless. Sensational news came from researchers and
