In 1957, an amazing article appeared in Sports Afield magazine entitled "I met a disgusting Bigfoot (True Story)", by George Moore. Now this curious story has been practically forgotten.

Moore was an American physician and traveled to the Nepalese mountains in June 1953. Prior to that, Moore lived in Nepal for 2 years and worked as a public health consultant. This work required sometimes trekking to remote and isolated mountain villages.

The purpose of the new campaign was to investigate an outbreak of typhus, which occurred on the very border with Tibet. Another American researcher, entomologist George Brooks, walked with Moore. Several local Sherpa guides led them along with the carriers.

When the whole group found themselves on a pass called Gosainkund Pass, they were suddenly hit by an angry storm. Visibility dropped sharply, black clouds hung over the people, and then rain poured down with a strong wind. In an attempt to find shelter and weather out the storm, the group took refuge in a damp, undersized forest.

In this forest, some maggots or worms unexpectedly attacked people, they climbed out of the wet earth along their legs, tried to stick to the skin like leeches, and people barely had time to tear them away from themselves.

At some point, Moore and Brooks got ahead of their guides, because they were in a hurry to quickly overcome this unpleasant place. And then Brooks stopped to peel another leech from his boot. Moore glanced in his direction and suddenly noticed some movement in the thicket of rhododendron behind Brooks. Brooks, noticing his worried look, immediately forgot about his boot and stood up, too, began to peer into this bush.

Almost simultaneously, they pulled their revolvers out of their holsters and looked around in an attempt to retreat from the alleged dangerous predator. To their right was a dangerously steep slope, and behind them rose up the slope along which they descended here. They froze and it became completely quiet, deafeningly quiet.

When they finally examined this creature in the thickets, they realized that they had never seen anything like it before. After that, they immediately ran away and climbed the slope.

"I will not forget this face for a long time. Grayish skin, beetle-black eyebrows, a mouth that was as wide as if it stretched from ear to ear, long yellowish teeth. That was enough, but those yellow eyes looked at us with devilish cunning and anger. Oh, that face! It was a disgusting Bigfoot! "- described Moore.

The creature was about the size of an average human and was covered from head to toe with grayish hair. He had unexpectedly thin legs, but very strong muscular arms. And behind him hung what Moore took for a tail.

This ape-like creature looked very vicious. At the sight of people, it bared its teeth and growled like a wild beast. However, it was probably only trying to protect its relatives, because Moore and Brooks suddenly noticed that at least six more such creatures were hiding in the thickets, including apparently a female with a cub. At least on the neck of one of these creatures was a similar creature of very small size.

The whole group of these creatures began to growl and scream loudly, and then the first, which apparently was their leader, jumped forward and looked as if it was about to attack people. Both Americans decided that it would jump on them at any second and pointed their revolvers at the creature.

“We saw him well, despite the fog, but did not shoot until it came three meters to us. After that, we shot at once in his direction, hitting a tree and leaves. once! ". We fired a second volley, and then a third. Now we convinced this demon, he turned and fled into the thicket, howling like a wounded coyote. But the excited sounds of other creatures showed that they had not gone far."

Moore and Brooks did not dare to leave their shelter of stones on the slope, knowing that the Yeti were wandering very close, they decided to wait for their guides, Sherpas and porters. As they sat, they saw these ape-like creatures wandering back and forth among the thickets and trees in a misty haze.

Moore heard their growls and strange muttering sounds and was convinced that they were communicating that way. He also began to suspect that these creatures were simply waiting for the dark to attack them.

"The chatter and growls around us are getting louder, they are cooking something." Brooks, shoot to kill him and pray, "I told him and tried to remember his return look. I met him in Kathmandu just a year before., but he managed to become my friend.

Suddenly Brooks said excitedly, "They've stopped talking." An eerie silence surrounded us. What's happened? I climbed higher above the stones, if they launched a sortie to attack, we will have to take care of every bullet. In the dim light, our revolvers were not effective weapons and they were no longer afraid of us. But it was still quiet and I did not see any movement."

Then Moore and Brooks heard more sounds and, to their delight, a group of their Sherpas emerged from the trees. Those strange ape-like creatures seem to have gone somewhere for good.

Subsequently, Moore spent a lot of time in Nepal, but never saw these creatures again. He also tried to figure out who they were and spent many sleepless nights puzzling over this mystery. These creatures bothered him as if they were leeches clinging to his skin.

"What have we seen? A mutant species of man? Or a monkey that is large, erect, adapted to life at high altitude and existing in isolation? Maybe it is some new species of an unknown animal? Or something that miraculously survived to our days from primitive times? These creatures are smart enough to hide from prying eyes, including from the Sherpas, "concluded Moore.
