30 year old Nathan Maynard-Ellis at first glance, he was not much different from other people, except that he was gay and adored horror films.

He lived with his partner David Lisby in Tipton, West Midlands, England, and spent his free time mostly in local pubs.

But recently his name appeared in British newspapers with horrifying details of who he really was and that he killed a woman and then cut her into 11 pieces and threw her into the canal.

This happened on the night of May 12, 2019. Since 42 years old Julia Rawson Maynard-Ellis met in a pub in the city of Dudley, where a very drunk Julia wandered by accident, and at 2 o'clock in the morning he took her to his home in a taxi. It is assumed that Julia did not know that Maynard-Ellis was homosexual, but when she found herself in his house, she most likely immediately realized that she was trapped for a specific purpose.

What happened next is not yet clear, but the investigation is sure that it was at Maynard-Ellis's apartment that the murder and dismemberment of the body took place, and his partner Lisby helped to get rid of the parts of the body.

When the apartment was searched, a large collection of DVDs about serial killers and horror films was found. On the walls were many stuffed animals, model swords, spiders and bloody homemade masks. Also there were found snakes (live or in the form of a stuffed animal) and a statue of a man holding a knife in his hand.

After the dismemberment, Maynard-Ellis and Lisby put Julia's body parts in plastic bags, and then carried them "casually strolling" to a nearby canal, where they later hid them in the thick grass.

Julia Rawson's remains, including her severed head, arms and legs, were found on June 12 and 29 last year at two different locations on the canal.

At the trial started the other day, Maynard-Ellis was described as a man who for many years harbored dark thoughts and was obsessed with the idea of sexual violence against women and various murders of people.

He was especially excited by the scenes with the dismemberment of bodies and the deeds of serial maniacs. In addition to the films, Maynard-Ellis' apartment was found to contain many printed materials with violent sexual abuse of women. His boyfriend David Lisby knew all about his partner's creepy hobbies, but it seemed to suit him.

Officially, Maynard-Ellis was considered an artist, so he made the bloody masks professionally. These were masks of serial killers from various horror films.

Since Maynard-Ellis and Lisby still deny their guilt on all four charges, the media have not yet published their photos or pictures from the apartment, waiting for the final court decision to be made.

Psychiatrists, meanwhile, told in detail at the trial that the accused had rich fantasies about sexual violence and that among horror films he especially loved those with scenes with beheadings and necrophilia.
