At night here, the frost dropped to minus 25 Celsius, and Jean's car skidded on the road and she was forced to walk to her town on foot through the countryside. She had to walk only 3 km, but she could not stand it at the moment when she almost reached it, and fell into the snow

On a very cold morning on December 20, 1980 in Lengby, Minnesota (USA), a local resident left his house and literally stumbled upon the motionless body of a woman lying in a deep snowdrift.

Looking at his face, he immediately identified his neighbor - 19-year-old Gene Hilliard.

Later it was found out that Jean had been lying in this state from the very evening, that is, at least 6 hours, and the temperature at night reached minus 25 degrees Celsius.

Jean was driving home in her car in the evening and driving through the deserted countryside when her car flew off the road. There was no one around, and there were no cell phones yet, so Jean left the car and decided to walk home.

She had to walk only 3 km from the accident site to the house, but she did not have enough strength and she could not withstand the growing frost, she could only walk to the next house and then fell unconscious in the snow.

When a neighbor found her body in the morning, he immediately called an ambulance, although outwardly Jean already looked like a very frozen corpse. It was as hard to the touch as a piece of wood. However, much to the surprise of the nurses, Jean's heart was still beating.

The nurses said that upon admission, Jean's body was as cold as if it had just been pulled out of the freezer, and her skin was completely white and her open eyes looked "deathly ashy."

Her body temperature was only 30 degrees, and her heart was beating very, very slowly, about 12 times a minute, which is less than one-fifth of the norm.

When the patient was examined by Dr. Ryne Kelly, he said that she had severe frostbite. None of Jin's limbs could bend or move. Everything looked as if she had fatal frostbite, that is, that ice crystals formed in the cells of her body and the cells were destroyed.

After a person's hands and feet get frostbite, the temperature inside the body and heart begins to drop, the lungs, abdominal organs and the brain begin to cool down and it becomes more difficult for them to perform their functions. Then comes the stage when they completely stop working and the person dies.

With Jean, it looked like her internal organs were already on the verge of stopping and she was close to death. Therefore, they actually did not do any resuscitation procedures, but simply wrapped her in an electric blanket and left her there.

However, 2 hours after being admitted to the hospital, Jin suddenly developed severe seizures, and then, even more unexpectedly for everyone, regained consciousness.

She spoke immediately, and it turned out that her mind and memory were in perfect order. Then the doctors examined her again, and now they were surprised to find out that her hands and feet were not damaged by frostbite, and not even one of Jean's fingers was hurt.

In total, Jean Hilliard spent 49 days in the hospital and when it became clear that she did not have any of the side effects commonly seen in frostbite victims, she was finally discharged.

The only thing that suffered for Jean was some areas of the upper skin on the limbs, which were treated with skin grafting.

Over the years since that incident, Jean has managed to get married and become the mother of three children. She has never encountered any health problems that could be a consequence of her "frozen" state, and correlates her miraculous recovery with the prayers of the nurses. After being discharged, she toured several local churches to thank God for her salvation.

Various doctors have repeatedly tried to explain this miracle with logical reasons, for example, the "frozen" hardness of Jin's body when it was discovered was explained simply by severe muscle spasms.
