The very name of this place causes goosebumps, here during the Great Patriotic War at least 200 thousand soldiers died, and no more than 40 thousand of them were found and buried. The rest still lie in the greasy, swampy soil
In history textbooks, even in the most detailed and voluminous ones, on the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, you can find everything about battles, losses, military operations, but there will never be anything about the other world.
Meanwhile, many places where the bloodiest battles took place, even decades after the war, retain a special strange and frightening energy.
One of these places is located in the Novgorod region, and those who have been here often later admitted that they had never been so scary and creepy anywhere else.
Even the very name of this place gives goosebumps - Meat pine forest.
Bor is a forest, but how can a forest be "meaty"? Imagination immediately draws mountains of bloody corpses between trees, although this name has nothing to do with human tragedy.
Myasnoy Bor is named after the small village located next to it, and she, in turn, received it back in the time of Peter I, who ordered to build a slaughterhouse here. In those years, animal bones had not yet learned to properly dispose of, and the bone remains of pigs and cows were simply buried in the forest near the village.
In 1942, in the vicinity of Myasny Bor, Soviet soldiers tried to break the blockade of Leningrad. About 400 thousand people were thrown into the assault on the Germans. At the same time, due to poor supplies, many of them quickly began to lack supplies, and in the spring the snow melted here and everything turned into an impenetrable swamp.
Time after time, Soviet soldiers pounced on German positions, but only exposed themselves to bullets and fell dead into the swamp water. According to the calculations of various researchers, including modern search engines, at least 200 thousand people were killed on this small piece of land of just a few hectares.
It's even hard to imagine what kind of oppressive atmosphere there is, because everyone who walks through this forest literally walks on human bones. And if you also believe that even just one suddenly killed person leaves a certain spiritual "imprint" at the place of his death (there are such esoteric theories), then everything is literally "clogged" with these "imprints".
Therefore, it is not surprising that in this place even "birds do not sing and trees do not grow", as Bulat Okudzhava sang. Meat Bor is also bypassed by animals. It's always very quiet here.
Back in the 1980s, according to eyewitnesses, under every bush there were piles of bones of the dead. There were so many of them that the earth could not hide them and they could be seen. Since then, searchers have collected all the remains from the surface and reburied, but there are still many of them in the oily, moist soil. The remains of only 40 thousand people were buried.

The people working here believe in the ghosts of the soldiers who roam here and for whom the war is still not over. They seemed to be forever locked in an endless battle. They probably don't even realize they've already died.
Search engines say that the atmosphere puts pressure on the psyche so much that they physically feel this heaviness. And many of them have personally encountered mystical phenomena. Someone felt that "thousands of eyes" were looking at him all the time, others heard footsteps on the ground, the sounds of rifle shots, the conversations of soldiers.
Most of these tales can be heard from the so-called "black diggers". These are people who are not interested in bones, but in weapons, helmets, pistols, grenades and other items. At auctions, one military helmet of those years can cost 100-200 thousand rubles.
However, Myasnoy Bor scares even such individuals, and they try to bypass him. Only the most "repulsed" ones go here to dig. And they are afraid not only of ghosts, but also of some kind of curse that is imposed on everyone who does not respect the dead and takes their weapons.
The most famous bike of this kind is the story of a "black digger" who dug many pistols in Myasny Bor, including a German one. And soon they found him killed - someone shot him with this German pistol. Maybe someone from other diggers, or maybe a ghost.
Another popular story is that of a trucker who once drove along the road past Myasniy Bor and fell asleep at the wheel. I woke up from a loud cry "Hey brother!" and immediately saw in the rear-view mirror a man in Soviet military uniform standing by the road.
Sometimes local residents hear German wartime music from somewhere in the forest, hear the roar of passing tanks, the screams of soldiers going into the attack and the loud groans of the wounded. The villagers say that “dead soldiers” knock on their homes regularly at night and ask for food.
Search engine Sergey Solodyankin he is skeptical about mysticism in general, he himself has never seen ghosts here for many years of work. However, I saw strange things.

One day his detachment came across a clearing on which a Soviet hospital was located during the battles. When the Germans broke into the clearing, they finished off all the wounded and threw their bodies into one hole. One was thrown off right along with the pillow on which he was lying, and when the searchers dug out this hole, they did not believe with their own eyes - the bodies of the soldiers turned to dust, but the pillow was still intact and when it was lifted up, red blood naturally flowed from it, as if completely fresh …
Another strange thing happened when the remains of a Soviet officer were found, on which his boots were preserved. And in the boots there were pieces of cardboard, which were placed instead of insoles. They looked like pieces of wet mud, but Solodyankin decided to keep them and put them in a bag to study later.
But when he arrived home, he forgot about this package, and when he remembered and pulled it out, in his opinion it was just a piece of dirt and nothing more. So he threw the pieces into the trash can and went about his business. And after a while he suddenly heard a whisper "I am here.. I am here" and this whisper was coming from … a trash can.
Solodyankin got goosebumps, he pulled the cardboard boxes out of the basket, examined it again, it looked like just dirty cardboard and that's it. So he threw it in the trash again. Then he left the room, and when he entered it a few minutes later, he again heard an insistent whisper from the basket "I'm here, look!"
Solodyankin confesses that his hair stood on end as a completely non-superstitious person. He pulled out the cardboard boxes and began to study again, but now he began to take the cardboard apart in layers. And I found pieces of a receipt among the cardboard, and on it the name Aristarkh Kuziminsky. So it was possible to return the name to this officer.

Ghosts Of Demyansky Bor
The fact that something outrageous is happening in Demyansky Bor, located in one of the picturesque tracts of the Novgorod province, was told back in 1862 by the manager of soap-making artels Nikolai Prokhortsev. “These marvelous places in terms of the terrain are similar to a huge cauldron,” he wrote to his boss Alexei Yurskov, “with natural aromas ideal for perfumery needs, with a variety of plants and fruits.
