Quite unusual news came the other day from the American state of Utah.

Many details of this incident are still unknown, there is not even a photograph of the "heroine" of the plot, but even very brief information looks shocking.

All information about the incident is still known only from the Utah Sheriff's report, released on May 3, 2021. Six months ago, in November 2020, a 47-year-old local resident went missing in the state. Police found out by accident when people spotted an abandoned car at a tourist park in the Diamond Fork area of Spanish Fork Canyon.

Inside the car, a bag and personal belongings were found that belonged to a resident of Utah, whose name was found out from documents left in the bag, but was not specified in the report.

The police tried to find the woman's relatives, but they failed. Then they were lucky enough to find out the address of the disappeared and understand that this woman is not in her house either, and her former colleagues at work do not know where she might be.

The police also carefully checked the entire area around the place where the woman's car was found from a helicopter, but they did not find anything suspicious.

The only clue in the case was that the missing woman seemed to have some mental health problems. But this, too, did little to help the cause.

In early May 2021, one of the local police officers, in collaboration with representatives of a private search and rescue team, decided to once again search for the missing woman in the Diamond Forks area and this time to check the area with a drone. He launched a drone, but at some point it fell and crashed deep in the canyon.

In an attempt to find the drone, the policeman and the drone operator themselves drove into the canyon, and when they began to ransack the canyon slopes overgrown with trees and bushes, they suddenly stumbled upon a tourist tent.

The tent was dirty and looked shabby, so they thought it was abandoned long ago. But when they unzipped and looked inside, they found a thin and weak woman inside, similar to the one they were looking for.

After a short conversation with her, the policeman realized that the woman was not lost, but deliberately decided to stay and live in this place. Moreover, all these six months, she, according to her own words, ate mainly only moss and some kind of grass. Well, at least she had no problems with water, there was a stream nearby.

The policeman took the woman to the hospital for an assessment of her mental and physical health. Apparently, the woman endured the winter cold more or less normally and, despite the cold and strange diet, was not in critical condition.

It is not clear what will happen to the unnamed "loss", the sheriff's report states that since the woman did not commit any unlawful misconduct, they have no right to detain her or prohibit her from returning if she wants to do so. However, they gave her "some means" so that she could at least some time eat normal food.
