Spontaneous sliding in time is one of the most interesting paranormal phenomena, as well as one of the rarest.

How does this slip occur? If you are in England and suddenly you see next to you a gentleman in Victorian clothes, with a black top hat on his head, and the whole environment around you also suddenly changes and looks like in old paintings, then this is the very slip.

Most often, such incidents are very short, mostly lasting a few minutes, maximum half an hour or an hour. During this time, a person caught at a different time is amazed, walks around and tries to understand what happened. Sometimes he speaks to passers-by. He returns to his normal time just as suddenly and imperceptibly as he "slipped" into the past.

In the archives of researchers of anomalous phenomena, there are only about a couple of dozen such cases, several of which occurred relatively recently. But the strangest, without a doubt, is the case of a girl named Laurie … Liverpool researcher of anomalous phenomena Tom Slemen told about him in his book "Haunted Liverpool".

In 2015, 26-year-old Laurie, a Pennsylvania resident, came to the British city of Liverpool to visit her friend Sarah, who lived in Hayton, a suburb of Liverpool. Both girls had met several years earlier on the Internet forum of the "The Beatles" fans and quickly became friends.

On the first day, Sarah took Laurie to various Liverpool attractions associated with The Beatles, and they spent the entire day on it, including taking a special bus tour. In the evening, the girls went to bed in Sarah's house, and the next morning Laurie began with animation to tell her friend a strange thing that happened to her at night. Laurie was sure that it was not a dream and that it really happened.

Laurie slept on the couch in the living room and suddenly the whole situation in the living room changed dramatically, and she was also filled with strangers. These people, dressed in outdated clothes, stood around a huge wooden radio box and a gloomy voice on the radio said "… I must tell you that this country is now at war with Germany."

It was an excerpt from a speech by Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain in September 1939, when he announced the beginning of Britain's entry into the war with Nazi Germany.

Laurie began to look at the people around the radio. There was a young couple, a man and a woman holding hands, and a little red-haired girl who said to the man, "Daddy, are you going to fight?"

Then everything instantly disappeared and Laurie found herself back in Sarah's living room in her 2015. Later, Sarah had the opportunity to check this story. From her elderly neighbor, she learned that during the Second World War, the Henderson family lived in her house and that they had a red-haired daughter who died of pneumonia in the 1950s.

For Laurie, everything that happened was a very strange incident, which at first she even wanted to attribute to hallucinations from fatigue, because that day she and Sarah walked a lot and her head was full of impressions from what she saw. But after a couple of weeks, in which she continued to visit in Liverpool, she again had a "slip in time".

On that day, Laurie and Sarah went to a club in the Chinatown area, from which they left at 14.30. Shortly thereafter, as they walked down the street, Laurie saw again that everything around her had completely changed. Laurie did not recognize any landmarks and could not understand what had happened. She even decided that she just turned the wrong way and got lost when she saw a very old model tram moving at the end of the street.

At the back of the tram stood a man in a British police uniform, also outdated, and when he jumped off in front of Laurie, he landed awkwardly on the pavement and fell, hitting his head. He lost consciousness, and blood began to flow from his head.

People around started shouting and calling for a doctor, and Laurie ran up and decided to help the policeman. She immediately caught the attention of another police officer, young and handsome, who was rushing to help, and he stared in amazement at Laurie, who was dressed in a leather jacket, a plaid miniskirt, purple leggings and black leather boots.

He was already starting to ask Laurie some questions, but suddenly everything disappeared and Laurie again found herself on the street next to Chinatown, or rather next to the red brick Lady Chapel Crown building.

Later, when Laurie told this story to the British researcher of anomalous phenomena Tom Slemen, he rummaged through the archives and discovered that in this place on March 5, 1883, in fact, there was a tragedy with a policeman who fell from a tram.

Meanwhile, Laurie's strange series of slips in time continued. Several days passed after that tram incident, Sarah went to work, and Lori, who continued to visit her, went to the store on Ranelag Street.

As she walked past the Midland Pub, her nose suddenly began to bleed, and while she was wiping her nose with a handkerchief, everything around her suddenly changed again. Laurie realized this only when the same policeman who looked at her with surprise the last time came close to her.

“Why are you dressed like that?” He asked Laurie, and the girl in response began to tell him the pure truth. She said that she came from 2015, and for some reason he was not at all surprised by this, but he said a strange phrase: "You are one of those who continue to come here. You are American. Do they dress like that?"

“My name is Laurie, what is your name?” The girl asked and immediately realized that she really liked this policeman, that she seemed to be in love with him already. “George,” he replied.

Laurie didn’t have time to say anything more, because she was back in her own time. And now she desperately wanted to go back, but she could not. She didn't know why all this was happening to her. In the evening, she told her friend Sarah about her new adventures in time and also said that she felt some kind of incomprehensible connection with this policeman from the Victorian era.

A few days later, Laurie still figured out the secret of how to get to the era where George is waiting for her. When Sarah came home from work, she saw a note from Laurie: "Love is the key to getting back to where George is. I'll be gone for a while, but don't worry. I'll be back. Laurie."

Laurie was gone for a week, and when she showed up, she was wearing a Victorian dress. According to her, she spent time with George in March 1883 and also displayed a handbag with various knick-knacks that he bought for her.

Then Laurie repeatedly went back in time to George and she was not there sometimes for several months. She is doing the same now. According to researcher Tom Slemen, he is still investigating this mysterious case and is confident that Laurie is telling the truth.
