Considering that hundreds of people were executed near this building over the centuries, often in a very cruel way, it is not surprising that ghosts eventually settled here. However, something very unusual also lives here - a ghostly huge killer bird
A beautiful historic building called Lincoln's Innbased in London (UK), or Lincoln's Inn Honorary Society, is the place where young British lawyers practice.
It is located on Holborn Street directly opposite the Royal Courtyard and over the past centuries, a huge number of people have been executed under its windows.
Some of these executions were very brutal. One of these was the execution in 1586 of Lord Anthony Babington, who was found guilty of treason and conspiracy to assassinate Elizabeth I.
The punishment was harsh, to put it mildly. Babington and some of his followers were hanged (not to death) and then hanged again (again not to death), after which they were finally quartered alive.
Their cries of pain were so terrifying that the queen herself ordered the executioners to speed up the execution.
Equally painful was the execution of Lord William Russell, who was sentenced to death in 1683 for conspiracy to assassinate King Charles II. Legend has it that the executioner, a man named Jack Ketch, chopped off a man's neck four times to chop off his head, and only the fourth time he managed to deliver the fatal blow.
It is said that since then the ghosts of both executed men have taken up residence at Lincoln's Inn, with Russell's ghost looking headless and holding his severed head in his hands, and a terrible grimace of pain froze on his face. Both ghosts love to roam the corridors of the building at night, moaning and groaning, as if reliving their executions again.
Other ghosts that supposedly live in this building actually lived in the neighboring building at first. Right next to Lincoln's Inn is the Royal College of Surgeons, and one story here relates to an eerie experiment once conducted here by Professor Aldini.
He sent an electric current through the corpse of a dead criminal to make him twitch, tremble, wiggle his limbs, and even open his eyes. It was nothing more than galvanic muscle contractions, but this sight could very much frighten an unprepared person, which is what happened.
One of the Lincoln's Inn employees was so frightened by what he saw that he allegedly committed suicide because he could not bear what he saw. Legend has it that this worker, as well as the ghost of the criminal whose corpse was used in the experiment, later began to appear together, first in the building of the college itself, and then, for some reason, moved to the Lincoln's Inn building.
Also among the local ghost stories can be noted the tale of a gilded carriage with a skeleton of a coachman who drives through the square next to Lincoln's Inn only to disappear into thin air.
Another bizarre ghost story from Lincoln's Inn comes from attorney Robert Percival, who once lived and studied at Lincoln's Inn. The story goes that one evening he was in his room late at night doing his lawyer's business, and at midnight he was shocked to see an ominous robed figure enter him.
Percival initially thought it was a robber, so he attacked the figure with his sword, but the weapon passed through the figure as if through the air. The figure then lowered its hood and revealed itself to Percival, who gazed at her with incredulous horror. This hooded figure had Percival's own face, but it was bruised, cut and bruised, as was his chest, which the phantom also showed him before he disappeared.
Terrified, Percival considered this a harbinger of doom, and was right, since he was killed shortly after.
One of the strangest local paranormal stories allegedly happened on February 25, 1913, when a group of men walked past Lincoln's Inn and were startled by a panicky cry from above. When they looked up, they saw in one of the windows a man who was twitching as if he was fighting with someone.
The men rushed into the building and climbed into the room where the fighter was, only to find him already dead. The dead man was identified as lawyer Charles Appleby and was covered in bloody scratches from head to toe. These scratches looked like they were made by the claws of an animal or a very large bird.
Shortly after this strange incident, another lawyer named John Radlett was also found dead in the same wing of the building. It looked as if he had committed suicide by hanging himself, but deep fresh scratches were found on the inside of the locked door of his room, as if some large animal had inflicted them.
After that, reports began to arrive from various people that Lincoln's Inn lawyers were being haunted by a huge ghost bird, and these rumors were so persistent that many lawyers in fear began to move from the premises to other places.
At one point, this story caught the attention of two journalists named Sir Max Pemberton and Ralph Blumenfeld, who decided to lock themselves in the Lincoln's Inn room, where one of the deceased lawyers had previously lived, to cover the floor with chalk so that the footprints of the "bird" could be seen. if she appears, then lurk and wait.

Later, this story was described in the book "Real Ghosts and Creepy Incidents":
“The two men spent the whole evening playing cards, but no one showed up and by midnight they were already very bored. It seemed obvious that nothing bad would happen., also opened by themselves, and a sharp wind entered the room, extinguishing the gas light.
There was a terrible sound like the flapping of huge wings. In the dim light, two men saw a large, dark object moving across the room and exiting through the wall. Then the noise stopped and the lights came on again.
Then a fellow reporter who had been waiting downstairs heard a noise, burst into the room, and all three stared at the floor in disbelief. There were giant claw marks on the chalk floor from the center of the room to the corner!"
This is a rather bizarre story, and the question arises, what could this entity be, after all, it is clearly not a ghost. Curiously, after this incident, no one else attacked the lawyers here.

13 Thousand Years Ago, A Huge Asteroid Fell To Earth, Causing A Cold Snap And Exterminating Mammoths And Ancient People
In the province of Limpopo north of Pretoria in South Africa, a team of scientists discovered new traces of a huge asteroid falling to Earth about 12,800 thousand years ago. These footprints are so-called "platinum spikes" that are sometimes found all over the world. It is believed that these "spikes" were left after the scattering of fragments of a huge asteroid. Meteorites and asteroids often contain large amounts of platinum, which is very rare on Earth under natural conditions. Ca
