Quite a few people have experienced the strange phenomenon of wasted time and / or sudden, unnoticed movement to another place during forest hikes. Maybe they fell into an invisible spatial portal or into a parallel world?

This article is a continuation of the material "Almost Lost: How an Unknown Force Lures People into the Thicket of the Forest".

Below are described several vivid cases of how people got into the forest in very strange situations in which they did not understand where time disappeared or they temporarily fell into another world.

Endless tunnel

The first story involved an unspecified resident of North Carolina, USA. One day she, her husband and their daughter went on a forest hike and stayed at the Deep Creek Campgrounds. In this place there is one notable location in the form of a dark tunnel with trees passing through a hill.

For many years there have been rumors about this place that ghosts live in it, but these spouses did not believe in ghosts, so when they went into this tunnel, they just wanted to have fun. At first, they really had fun, they scared each other, made howling sounds and they were not afraid of the darkness of the tunnel and the damp air in it.

But then they didn't laugh when they suddenly noticed that they had been walking along the tunnel for many minutes and that they should have left it from the opposite end long ago, because the tunnel was not long. However, now they could not even see the bright spot of the exit from the tunnel.

Thus, their easy 10-minute walk first turned into a strenuous 20-minute walk, and then into a highly nervous 30-minute walk. They all walked and walked through the tunnel and still could not reach the end.

In fact, we did not panic, but we realized that we still could not get out of this damn tunnel. We looked at the clock on our camera and the time there steadily went forward. My phone, for some reason, was malfunctioning and on it constantly some technical messages surfaced.

Finally we got to the very end and here we made our second mistake. Nearby there was another path, it went around the hill and my husband decided to walk along it for the sake of curiosity, and then return to us when we go up the hill. We went upstairs and our path suddenly ended, so we just stood there and waited for my husband. And while we were going upstairs, I photographed the surroundings as a souvenir, including other hiking trails.

But when my husband soon approached, it suddenly turned out that there were no more paths near us. We looked around, looked for them, no, that's all. And when we decided to go down to where I saw other paths, it suddenly turned out that there was nothing there either.

Well, nothing, I said, I took a photo along the way, now we'll see what's there and how. I open the gallery on the camera and see that all these pictures are not at all what I photographed. On them were some pieces of mountains, the sky, the horizon line, and so on. Everything is completely different!

That's when we got really worried, especially since the clock on the camera showed that 3 hours (!) Had passed since we went out for this walk. Then the phone finally started working normally and I called 911. I was told that a team of forest rangers had been sent to search for us. They did not reach us until an hour or so.

It turned out that we were actually a mile from the tunnel exit and only a few meters from one of the hiking trails. Since then we have decided that we will never go hiking again."

The missing group

The following story was told on the "Missing 411" forum by a user with the nickname "LeoLeonidas21". According to him, he actually "disappeared" for a while in the forests of North Carolina. This happened while he was studying at the Geological College and doing a practical assignment, studying various rocks in the area of the wooded Blue Ridge.

He was not alone, but as part of a student group of 30 people. They walked through the forest for only 45 minutes when they reached the top of this small mountain and everything was without incident. The oddities began when the entire group set off on their way back, and the story's author accidentally fell behind when he stopped to straighten his shoes.

Before I bent down, I had the opportunity to see how almost the entire group climbs up the slope about 60 meters away from me, and behind me there was a turn onto the path we were following, and another 2 climbed up to my point. or 3. I quickly tied my shoelaces, did everything right, and I emphasize that I did not change the direction of my body at all during this process.

But when I got up, I immediately saw that the path along which we were walking disappeared and instead of it there was ordinary soil with fallen leaves. And the worst thing is that I did not see any people either in front of me or walking behind me. And there was not even a turn at the cliff behind me.

What else confused me was the lack of sounds. There was no gust of wind, no birdsong, no squirrel squeak or other forest noises. Everything was very strange and unnatural. And then I FEEL that someone is looking at me. This feeling quickly grew into something more - I was sure that someone who wanted to harm me was watching me closely, that it was very angry and violent. And that it is approaching me.

I felt so subtly that at first it slowly crawled towards me, and then rushed towards me at a run, that he ran with all his might where his eyes were looking, my body itself chose the direction. And suddenly I jumped out from behind the trees directly onto the path along which my classmates were walking.

This place was at a distance of 20-25 minutes walk from the place where I stopped to tie my shoelaces, while according to my feelings, no more than 5 minutes passed between the time I stopped and I jumped out onto the trail.

I was immediately surrounded and asked what had happened, but I did not know what to say. Even now I do not know how to explain this, and to this day I no longer go to the forest alone, even to the forest that is very close to my parents' house."

Silent fog

There are a lot of similar reports and in all of them people mention the missing time, as if they got into a certain zone where time flows at a different speed. The following story is also taken from the "Missing 411" forum and was told by a user with the nickname "spiral venom". It happened in the American National Park Rocky Mountain, when he went on a solo forest trek along the "Tonahutu Creek" hiking trail.

He was walking along the path when he suddenly realized that it had become unusually quiet around him. All forest sounds and even smells disappeared, and then an unusual fog began to roll over the trail.

“It seemed as if I had entered a bubble where nothing was heard. I immediately pulled out the phone and marked the time on it 15:45. Despite the fog, I continued to walk forward along the path and the silence continued.

I walked like this for 10-15 minutes when I noticed the sky. The clouds above me moved with such speed, as if they were being driven by a stormy wind. However, according to the forecast, there should have been no snow or rain that day, so it was strange to see these low hanging clouds moving so fast.

Suddenly there was a crash that did not come from the sky, but as if from under the ground. As if from a deep crack. The clouds immediately stopped moving and took on a light pink and purple hue. After that I quickened my pace, wanting to get out of here as soon as possible. My body began to react like a fight or a stampede, an adrenaline rush. I felt a strong terror in my stomach, while there was nothing terrible around me.

Another loud crash followed by a bright flash of light. And suddenly everything returned to its place - the birds began to sing, everything around was filled with ordinary sounds. Maybe I just panicked in vain? But when I looked at the phone, it was 18:30 (!).

For me, no more than 15 minutes passed, but it turns out that I disappeared for about 3 hours. I don't remember anything like that during this period, other than what I described above. I later told this story to only a few people and some of them said that I was abducted by aliens, while others said that I was caught in a time vortex."

The missing hour

This combination of sudden total silence and lost time is a common feature of such stories. Is this what it looks like when people are trapped in a random interdimensional or time portal?

The following story was posted by a user in Pennsylvania. One day he went hiking in the Alleeni National Forest. At first everything went well, he walked along the path. where there were other tourists, and at some point overtook a couple with a dog.

“I kept walking down the trail and turned for a moment to look at their dog, and when I looked ahead again, the trail completely changed. It was now straight and completely cleared of bushes on its sides.

This embarrassed me and I thought that I had entered the wrong part of the forest. I pulled out a compass and it showed that I was generally not where I needed to, and judging by the landscape, there shouldn't be such a site at all in this part of the forest.

I quickly walked to a small grove of trees. As I walked among them, the only sound I heard was the sound of my own footsteps. I walked in the grove for less than a minute, according to my calculations, when I finally saw people. It was 4 people, among whom were the two with a dog whom I met along the way.

When I glanced at my watch, it suddenly turned out that it had been a full hour since I had seen it on the trail. It was too late to go somewhere else and I was allowed to spend the night in their camp."
